Even though it’s still early on Sunday, I’m already thinking about how the long weekend was over so quickly. (Sigh… like a fleeting lover at the train station whose name you didn’t even catch. Mom, if you’re reading this, it’s just a simile, a writing style, if you will. Husband Jace — you too.)
So-yes dammit, I have to go back to work tomorrow. I really hate to be negative about it. What did Thanksgiving Day teach me, after all? I AM grateful to have a job where I get paid every two weeks, unlike State employees in California, who get paid when the State budget feels like paying them. And lately, the budget has been calling in sick alot.
Actually, I really do like my job. I’m just not thrilled about having to devote my week to physically being there at work — or else be subjected to, you know, disciplinary action and all that nonsense.
Tomorrow I’ll post photos of my favorite office toys. Each one reminds me to never take myself too seriously. Serious is boring — remember that. Unless there’s blood and crime scene tape around it, it’s probably not that serious.
So tomorrow at 0410 hrs, when the synapses aren’t quite on Ready Mode and the neurons are startled into “WhaHappen? – is it Saturday?” wishful thinking, I’m determined to seize the day and will fight the urge to seize the pillow instead. Have a great fun-filled week!
