Coffee first thing in the morning is God’s gift to those facing another day in Cubicle Land. Except when there’s a fly in that cup trying to pass for a Starbucks bean. I almost choked on my own coffee when my sister Sherilyn sent me this photo.
She was 50 miles away sip, sip, sipping her own morning cup of resurrection java. In her own words, “Holy Bejeebus, wazzat?!” (Tellingly, notice the lipstick mark.)
Then Sherilyn texted me further and attached photo #2: “Needless to say, my cup and I were NOT happy!”
I hate bugs and will slaughter every insect I meet. But I don’t eat them for breakfast. That’s just cruel.
So, have you ever deliberately eaten a bug? Like on a dare, just for fun, or you just had the munchies?
Here are a couple of links to bug posts from other bloggers. If you’ve ever posted a bug story, link to it in your comment. Thanks! And happy snacking.

Also - FYI, sorry, my CommentLuv isn’t re-activated yet. But feel free to manually link to your last post (or site).
I know, so prehistoric and labor-intensive. I’ll fix it when I upgrade my Wordpress version. (Always the slacker.)

ReformingGeek:
Well, I picture you with abs like Jillian Michaels.
GrannyAnn:
Just yesterday I found what looked like a cat hair in my beef stew. I complained loudly to the Management/Cook (Husband Jace).
Joe:
You must’ve missed the smoke signals through all that snow. And the carrier pigeon called in sick.

She’s back!!! So nice to hear from you.
First, I do not drink coffee at all. Yeah, I know I am weirdo but I just never developed a taste for it. I get my caffeine other ways in the morning.
Second, I do not ever recall intentionally eating a bug. Unintentionally, sure.
Happy Valentine’s Day, Marissa!

Thanks! As for eating bugs, I don’t know how those people on Fear Factor do it. I watched a live mini-version of that show at Universal Studios and almost threw up when they drank the insect-milkshake.
Have a GREAT Valentine’s Day!!

I knew that you had it in you! Welcome back, one of my oldest and dearest buddies!
I ate the tequilla worm one time, without even drinking. It was just a dare.

It seems a fly fall out on the cup. I’ve also not used to drink coffee but one thing I like in the coffee is the aroma…. Just want to smell it.
I haven’t experience eating a bug.

Man, that must have been one lousy surprise early in the morning. I know I would freak! I’ll have to check my coffee from now on every morning.

I think that it was just mushy, if I remember correctly. It did not get me drunk, either!

I’m lost without morning coffee, maybe bugs need coffee too… joking.
That insect in cup on pic really isn’t some good solution for starting day, terrible!
